Skin Interface Operations Google Patent
Wireless headphones, sports wristbands, and smartwatches are all relatively small in size. Manufacturers are working hard to enhance the user interface of wearable gadgets in order to provide a better user experience. Previously, the Dutch online publication LetsGoDigital discovered that Google had applied for a patent to use the user’s skin as the wearable device’s operational interface. Wearable devices, such as wireless headphones and watches, may detect the user’s skin contact near the device using sensors and acceleration sensors, and determine the operation of tapping and sliding based on the vibration caused, according to Google’s patent application material.
